Volunteering for the Medical Reserve Corps
Getting Started
The first step is to download or print and complete our Application Form and then return it to the MRC Coordinator by email. Please allow up to several weeks for us to conduct your background check. When the background check is complete, we will contact you with a welcome letter and schedule a meeting for orientation where we will continue the enrollment process.
During the orientation meeting we will provide you with a volunteer handbook, discuss the training requirements and opportunities, assess your desire for participation, and we will orient you to the disaster plans in Calhoun County and what your role might be.
Once you have completed the minimum required training we will then “classify” you as ready to deploy. We would strongly recommend that you continue to attend training, exercises, and meetings as well as participate in various events throughout the year. This will strengthen your ability to assist in our community in times of need.
Our application form is in PDF format. The Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader is available for free download.
